MIA Picks AOSCE To Organise World Congress Of Accountants
KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) has appointed Asian Overland Services Conventions & Events Sdn Bhd (AOSCE) to organise the 18th World Congress of Accountants (WCOA).
The conference will be held in Malaysia for the first time next year from November 8 to 11.
WCOA 2010 steering committee chairman Y.C. Lee said in a statement today that AOSCE emerged top among the two shortlisted companies.
"The selection had been a long and tough process in order to ensure that we have selected the most experienced organiser to handle this international event which expects to receive 6,000 participants," Lee said.
"Besides the appointment, we also had a suppliers' pre-qualification exercise as part of our best governance and due diligence process for all WCOA 2010 suppliers or providers of either services or products," he said.
Lee said with the appointment of AOSCE, the next phase of preparation is the promotion of WCOA 2010 to the global accountancy community through participating in selected events in a number of countries from the second half of this year.
"There are many opportunities for related institutions and organisations to benefit from the global outreach and marketing opportunities presented by this world congress," he said.
"I believe that given the global coverage of this event and the prominence of accountants in leading and sustaining value creation globally, WCOA 2010 will be worthwhile investing in," he added.
